The Chesapeake Gem & Mineral Society is holding their quarterly auction this Friday March 9, 2012. This is a great opportunity to acquire some interesting and useful lapidary and jewelry related items (usually quite inexpensive).
I highly recommend this to all of the members of the Central Maryland Rock and Mineral Collectors Exchange to come to this meeting (it's free).
CGMS Meetings are held on the 2nd Friday of each month except August at the Women’s Club of Catonsville, St. Timothy’s Lane & Frederick Rd in Catonsville, MD. Meetings begin at 7:30 P.m. and visitors are always welcome.
And of course - Don't forget our meeting on March 15th. I'd like to schedule a field trip to Mineral Hill within the next 2 weeks and I'd like to introduce (and schedule) 2 new areas for rockhounding. I'd like to also discuss jewelry making (you gotta do something with all of those rocks and fossils), so it would be great if some of our group could bring in some of their work.
p.s. My daughter is doing better (health-wise). Now it’s on to the hard part - how much brain damage does she have? Cristl was accepted (and is now residing) at Kernan's Hospital, one of the top brain rehab hospitals in the country. Thank you for all of the prayers and kind thoughts.
If you are interested and have a Facebook account, you can follow her story and progress at http://www.facebook.com/cristl.spicer .
I hope to see you at the CGMS meeting and especially at our March 15th Meetup.
