I'd like to put on a Holiday Party for this Thursday's Meetup of the Central MD Rock and Mineral Collectors Exchange.
I am willing to provide a main dish (something like lasagna or spaghetti) and soft drinks. If everyone would bring s side dish to share, it would make it a nice party.
I had a chance to go rockhounding a few weeks ago with Paul Senstad in Frederick Maryland (just east of Thurmont). Due to the short daylight and a late start, we only had a few hours to collect. Paul showed us to a sweet spot and Lyle and I were able to collect some very nice quartz crystal specimens (I've posted some of the pictures in the photo area). We will plan on a spring trip there (after hunting season).
So, for those that haven't been to a meeting in a while, why not come out and enjoy the company of fellow rockhounders, collectors, and jewelry buffs. I've recorded quite a few of the Weather Channel's series "Prospectors". After watching these, you'll want to give up you day job and go hunt for gemstones.
I look forward to seeing everyone again, BUT!!! Please let me know if you are interested in doing a holiday party this Thursday (it is not a commitment, I just need to find out if there will be enough interest to have the party. So, please let me know via email that you are interested ASAP - Today if possible - you can RSVP later (even up to Wednesday Eve) but I do need to know if this is something that everyone would like to do.
I hope to hear from you soon,
