Please Read - CMRME party IS tonight Thursday Dec 17 at 7:30pm - all are invited

Evidently, I sent out an email saying that the date of the party was Thursday the 18th. Well this month our Thursday meeting falls on Dec 17th (the meetup calendar is correct).

I hope that you will come tonight (even if you rsvp'd no). This is not a big affair, just some friends that share and interest in Rocks, Minerals, Gems, and what you can make with them. We always have a good time talking about local hunting locations, local finds, and cool rocks that we have found elsewhere. I also discuss the formal clubs in the area and which ones match your overall interest.

If you have been to Mineral Hill in one of our last field trips (or on your own) please bring some of your finds. We will try to identify them using several identification methods and if it is not Tooooooo Cooooooold outside (below freezing), I'll fire up the rock saw for anyone that wants to see inside their rocks.

Rockhounds, disinterested spouses, children, and neighbors are invited tonight. If you could, just bring something to share such as a desert, side dish, etc (although not required to attend), and I will have something for "heavy hors douvres" as well as beverages and utensils.

So, stop by for a little while, meet some of the other members and catch-up on old acquaintances. I'll bring out some of my finished rocks to show you the before and after. We'll also look at some video on mineral hunting. I am sure that you will enjoy the evening.

As always, if you have a rock that you want identified or just to talk about, bring it along.

Thanks for being members of the Central Maryland Rock and Mineral Exchange.
