Hiking can be hazardous and may result in minor and serious injury. The organizers of Rockland Singles 45 plus, afternoon, walks, hiking, a & e group are not professional hikers. I understand that I, and any guest I bring, hike at my/our own risk.

I'm retired now and like walking and would like to meet new friends.
What Tom O. is saying about this Meetup Group
Great group of people and I thank Susan for oraganizing such a group.
"Don't do mornings", come join us! Meet new friends to share afternoon 1-4 hour, easy to moderate, with some more challenging, local nature walks and hikes, plus other arts and entertainment activities. Don't forget to check the day of an event for any changes. Please give yourself plenty of time to find us, since we only wait an extra 10 minutes before starting an event to be fair to everyone. We will occasionally post a "Dog Friendly" event, which is the ONLY TIME when friendly, well behaved dogs will be welcome, but they must be on a leash and under strict control of the owner. Owners should find out and respect the rules of the park, provide water, for their dog and follow requests made by the organizers.
Either a $20.00 yrly. or $2.00 per event donation to defray the $180.00 yrly. meetup advertising fee and other costs involved in running the group would be appreciated and can be made when you attend an event. Additional donations always welcome.
If you have been a member for several months and attended numerous level hikes, or and have led hikes for other groups please let me know if you would be interested in hosting some events as a co-organizer. Suggestions are welcome. We have many more bridges to cross and paths to explore so come share the journey!
As with all of our events, you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of your guests. Hiking can be dangerous and injuries can occur, sometimes fatal. Trail blazes can sometimes be missing so there is always the possibility of getting off trail and possibly lost. Knowing this you agree to hike at your own risk and we cannot be held responsible for any injuries you or your guests may incur. We've had a pretty good track record thus far and haven't lost anyone yet! Lets' keep on truckin' as long as the bodies are willing and able!
