Welcome!

This Meetup group is designed to connect families who are in the process of adopting and who have already adopted - both internationally and domestically - in Rockland County, NY and neighboring Bergen County, NJ.

It is my hope that this group will provide support to "forever families" in many ways - including serving as an outlet for sharing information, enjoying fun events with our blended families, and just extending our network of friends going through this very unique parenting experience! I hope this group will flourish and be of great benefit to all of us and our children.

My husband and I are in the process of adopting our daughter from Ethiopia, and we know first-hand the importance of being able to connect with other couples who have gone through this before! We love the idea of having playdates and events with other blended families who "get" what we are going through. It's also a great way to support other children in the family, whose experiences as siblings to adopted kids are in some ways different than in families with only biological children.

We welcome all types of adopting and adoptive parents, and we look forward to your contribution to the group!
