Trail Work Day -- MOVING FORWARD!!!! (NEW LOCATION: 4051 Hollenback Rd.)

Let’s create something WITH GIGANTIC POWER TOOLS!

We're very, very close to finishing the "north" loop.

Construction on the new Rocks and Roots Trail at Alum Creek State Park has begun! Join us as we build the future of trail running in Central Ohio!

Trail work will start at 10:00 am and wrap up at noon.

During this build phase, we will meet near the Hollenback Rd. trailhead before some brief instruction and then head out onto the trail.

The address is 4051 Hollenback Road, Lewis Center, OH 43035.  If you park in the neighborhood across the street, please be respectful.

Tools! Gotta have tools right?!  If you don't have any of the following, don't worry about it. Chances are we have plenty. Before heading out on the trail we will take an inventory of what everyone has and make decisions on what we can leave behind. So.... if you have any of the following please bring them.

Water and a snack
Work gloves
Yard rake
Adze hoe – We’ve picked up a few of these and they are great!
Loppers/trimmers - Helpful if you consider the tall guy who will be running behind you ;)
Pulaski/axe

Chainsaw - Only need one or two. Only bring if you know how to use it.

Handsaw - Same as above!

Also, you should probably bring a fairly heavy set of pants. Helps with the dense shrubs and thorns.  Not 100% necessary, but wouldn't hurt.

Are you planning another work day for this upcoming sunday?

Hi Chris. There is NOT a planned work day for this coming Sunday. My girls are running in a mother/daughter race. The following weekend I am on vacation. However, I believe guys are going out to do some work today. If anyone DOES feel compelled to arrange a Sunday work day, they'll do it via this Meetup and everyone will get a notification. Thanks for all of your help!

I will try my best to show up! Back to a Sunday long run schedule so depends on timing that morning. I lack tools but will attempt to make up for it in enthusiasm?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
