Let's play Dominion.

I have the base game and the Intrigue and Prosperity expansions.  With the Intrigue set that can play up to 6.  If someone else can bring a base set, that's another 4, or base set and Intrigue and we can have a maximum of 12.  (I'm still limited by 2 tables.)

Wow, attendance shot up recently. I have one basic set and one intrigue expansion. For this many people, we need someone else to also bring a basic set.

I sent the address to everyone. Let me know if you didn't get it.

I can bring 2 base sets and a table. Do you have enough chairs? I Wil also bring prosperity, hinterlands, and dark ages.

A table would help, so if 9 show up we can do 3 groups of 3 instead of a 4 and 5. I have plenty of chairs. Thanks very much.

I've never actually played this before; how quick is it to pick up?

It's not difficult. If you've never played a deck-building game it's a strange idea at first, but you should be able to pick it up fine. This was the second tabletop game I ever played after Catan and I had no trouble learning it.

In my experience 6-player Dominion is awful. Several cards are just not designed for that many players (Swindler will end the game in 3-4 plays sometimes) and the rules don't officially support it. Limiting it to 8 and doing two 4-player games would be a lot better, and you could support it with the cards you have from the two sets since Intrigue comes with a second set of money/victory/curse cards.

The Intrigue rules do support it. The game makers do not support 7-8, and suggest breaking into 3-4 sized groups. The limit I have is table space, so if more than 8 players meet, we might have to have some large groups. We'll see how well attended the event is.
