Post 9-11 Axis and Allies Game Night Report

Well, another Game Night has come and gone and our first "Global 40 Game Day" also just passed us by.

Both Meetup?s turned out to be loads of fun (as usual)!

I want to say thanks to everyone that could make it out to this one day- double header Meetup this past Saturday. I especially want to give a special thanks to Phil for lending us his new AAP40 and AAE40 game boards even though he couldn?t make it out to game with us due to an ankle injury. Thanks for going the extra mile and lending us your games even though you were in pain and couldn't join us!

We had two first time players show up to our Game Night; Andy and Darren. On behalf of the group, welcome to the fun we call A&A! I hope you both really enjoyed your selves and we all look forward to meeting up with you again soon.

Our first G40 game day went off well too. We had three of us show up at 11 am and all three of us played till the wee hours of the morning (4 am I think it was) and yet we still didn?t finish the game! BUT, man was it fun! Unfortunately this will not be a regular event, playing the full scale new Global 1940 game is just way too long! Due to the GLOBAL SCALE of this new game, we wont be doing it every time we Meetup. Most of us have too much of ?a life? (as Mike would say) and too few of us have enough brain cells and stamina anymore (as my wife would say) to play a FULL game of global40 from start to finish. Trying to do that just takes way too much of these valuable resources to do it on a regular basis. But don?t fret; we will be doing this again! So until you see it on our calendar again, rest up and save up all the ?hall passes? you can so you won?t have to miss out on it next time!

For those of you members with the new 40 A&A games, don?t let this discourage you from bring these games with you to our Game Nights; maybe with a little ingenuity and computer know how we can come up with some kind of way to ?save games? and pick up at the next Meetup. I also keep tossing around the idea of some kind of ?house rules? that might enable us to play a G40 game in half the time.

Well, enough chit chat for now, I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone that made this ?double header Meetup day? a success!

See you next time!
Chris.
