Nice .. round 2 capture of japan .. love it.
well...another Game day has come and gone but what a GREAT game day it was!
For those that made game day…thanks again for making this group so much fun and for those that couldn’t make it, see you next time?
We had 13 players show up, several new players, one “guest” (DJ) thanks to a new player (Andrew) for dragging him along. I don’t know if this was a good thing or a bad thing because I was the one that had to face DJ and he put a real hard fight as the Allies in Europe; took me till 4 am to take Moscow!
We had the HUGE G40 map out again, thanks again to Eric for having this map made; its WAY COOL to game on it…LOADS of space for all your units!
We had a good mix of axis and allied wins for the night; at one table they played two games due to an unforgettable round 2 capture of japans capital. Really hurts to have (and see) that happen, but no better way to learn to use ships to block your enemies movements through the Pacific than a loss like that. We also had a game where the Japanese managed (thanks to close odds and good dice at just the right moment) to hold off a late game invasion of their capital, so it can be stopped. We had two games that the Germans captured Moscow; but it took till 4 am for both of those captures to happen. And we had an Allied win even with the fall of the UK capital on G3 in another game; sea lion…good or bad? Anyone’s guess I guess; since even a successful sea lion can apparently still spell a loss for the Axis. So, two Axis and two Allied wins for the night!
Well, you can see all the pictures of it on our site, as usual, if you are interested.
I plan to be posting the next Meetup in a day or two so keep an eye out and it should be in two weeks again so plan to be there!
Until next game day…have a good life!
