April post Game Night report

WOW! Another Game Night has come and gone; hard to believe I?ve been organizer now for an entire year. Thanks to everyone that could make it to this month?s event and thanks to everyone that has been able to make it to some of the events over the past year; your participation in the group makes a huge difference and I?m glad to know you all. biggrin

This months Game Night was another big success; we had 11 players show up, we met at the Inverness Bunker for the first time (thanks David) and I personally learned that AA50 might be more fun to play as a 5 player game rather than a 6 player game. Seems like the person that gets stuck playing Italy doesn?t have much to do with such a small Power?ESPECIALLY?if the Allies run a bombing campaign against them. And Bob, sorry that your first game of the night was such a bummer but thanks for hanging in there as the ?bombed out Italians?! crying

I?ll be updating our budget sometime in the next day or two, so if your interested in that check out our ?money? tab on our Meetup site.

And last but not least; Scott, Matt and Myself (?your organizers?) have been bouncing around the idea of hosting an annual ?A&A Tournament?. We?ll probably be advertising it State wide (Colorado?of course) and maybe continental U.S. wide, but we are just starting to work on the details. Some things about the tournament that are already decided on is that it will be called ?Fall Gathering? and will be run nearly identical to a tournament that has been running for 7 years now in Ohio called ?Spring Gathering?. We will be holding it sometime in the fall each year (as the name implies). It will be a ?day and a half? event; Friday night (6 pm till midnight) will be a ?meet and Game Night? and all day Saturday (10 am till midnight) will be the tournament. It will most likely be held at ?the Inverness Bunker?, maybe a different suite but the same set of buildings; this will depend a lot on registration and what David has available for us to use when the time comes. And the last thing is that our ?first annual Fall Gathering (FG1)? will be held fall of 2010, so that will give us an entire year and half to plan this thing.

A lot more details for Fall Gathering still need to be worked out but in the mean time we could use everyone?s help with a couple of items.

1. Does anyone work in or know someone that works in advertising that can help us work out the advertising details? If so, please call me[masked]
2. Anyone that wants to help organize and/or run FG (other than Scott, Matt and my self) please contact me so we can get you in on the planning team.

Well that?s it for now. Hope to see everyone at May Game Night; and don?t forget for the month of June we have two Meetup?s scheduled; Game Night and Central Powers Game Day. So get your RSVP?s in sooner than later.

Thanks & Peace Out
Chris
