Mount Silverheels + Warren Miller

Ya'll have spoken... or technically, haven't spoken.  So Mount Silverheels (13,822 feet) it is.  The hike is about 9 miles and 3500 feet.  Information can be found here on 13ers.com.  We'll start from Hoosier Pass located south of Breckenridge (real close to the Quandary Peak trailhead).

Let's shoot for a 7am start.  That should give us plenty of time to relax and grab some beverages afterwards prior to 6pm.  Those meeting at Wooly Mammoth should be there around 5:30am.

I'd expect usual winter gear.  As is most of the time particularly in the cooler months, be prepared for wind.  I'd also recommend gaiters and microspikes.  No snowshoes necessary unless the weather surprises us with several storms of snow in the next week.

The film begins at 6pm and is $15 cash.  I've got our tickets.

Great hike with some great folks! The Warren Miller flick was marginal at best.

I found the film to be a bit disappointing but I definitely enjoyed spending the day with everyone.

So as a reminder, ya'll will meet at the Wooly Mammoth Lot across from the Conoco around 5:30am. Look for Leonard's sporty 4Runner. My cell is[masked]-9162. Let me know if anything comes up or you are running late in the morning. I'll meet you guys just off the highway at the Silverthorne exit. There's a Shell and a Wendy's for a bathroom break and/or breakfast (Wendy's opens at 6:30am). Forecast is looking like a chance of snow showers in the morning with a decent breeze. Bring layers, gaiters, spikes, goggles if you have them, mittens, hat, etc.

Thom is going to leave a few minutes before everyone else and pick me up in Silverthorne. That means Leonard will drive the rest of you (Dan, Daniel, Maddie). I'll see ya'll in the morning!

I should be leaving Castle Rock for Wooly Mammoth around 04:15ish if anyone needs a ride call[masked]-5767. I like driving so I will have a spare seat or 2 for the day.

Leonard and Thom are usually the drivers. Don't forget to buy your driver a beer! I've got to go up Friday evening again and could take one.

Can I join the bandwagon too? I'll buy my driver a beer (or drink of choice)... promise!

I think I'll get in on this stowaway-style. Are there any plans for who's driving from Wooly Mammoth and if there's still space in a vehicle?
Have you guys seen the trailer to this yet?

Have to catch another event later - I hate to miss this, but with my new job start date and getting home for the holidays before, my schedule has been up in the air - I need to get out of town to IL soon. I see there are 2 waiting, if no one signs up, let me know to reimburse the ticket if you are out the cash - SORRY!!

Thanks for making a decision for us mark! We're all obviously great at voicing our opinion... Mt. Silverheeds it is. Can't wait! Oh, by the way, any idea as to if we should get tickets for Warren Miller ahead of time or just plan to get them there?

What do you guys feel like hiking, assuming good weather? A Centennial? A 14er (probably repeat for all of us)? A few options include Mount Silverheels (Centennial), Wheeler Mountain, Helen to Father Dyer traverse, Quandary's west ridge, Peak 1, Buffalo Mountain... other? If nobody has an opinion I would probably pick Silverheels since it is an easy Centennial that I don't think anyone here has hiked, and the mountain is near Breckenridge.
