From the idyllically peaceful coastal town of Sanspont to an ancient lost city at the top of the world, Rise of the Runelordstakes a party of adventurers from 1st to over 15th level and delves into the mysteries of Varisia's ancient past. Millennia ago, the powerful empire of Thassilon ruled the land, dominated by despotic runelords who maintained their power through harnessing the power of rune magic. Thought gone forever, the working of Thassilon are not so far beneath the surface and one of the runelords plans a return to power. Only the brave adventurers stand in his way.
Since my regular pathfinder game was too big and has too many players and I just happen to own the Rise of the Runlords set. We'll be running this one for the people who are waiting on the other game.
Part of the reason this isn't a PFS game is that it opens the door for me to allow weird character concepts like a cat folk gunslinger or an android barbarian with magic item creation feats as long as your fellow players don't feel that you are too OP.
I'm going to go with an (almost) anything goes approach. The exception being using races with racial hit die or that are clearly monsterous or OP like drow nobles or pureblood azlanti. I would also restrict the game to official pathfinder stuff only. So fans of Psions, I'm psorry, they don't really fit in to this psetting.
Character Creation is the High Fantasy point buy with average gold, and average hp progression.
I would prefer it if you were not evil but if you are dead set on being an assassin or really want to try being a Barbarian Monk or whatever I'll waive the alignment restriction.
Go ahead and also pick 2 traits. Item creation feats are permitted but if you want you can swap out automatic one for the ones PFS gives you.
Please don't do cheesey builds though. For what qualifies as a cheesey build, I am going to go with the consensus of the group.
