We are participating in a National Event - "March Across America for Ron Paul"

The March Route will be From Central Avenue and Indian School Rd. south on Central to Washington St, then East to Chase Field Ballpark on 7th Street.

How this event will work is it will start at Indian Steele Park at Central and Indian School Rd. Those who can walk the entire four + miles to Chase Field meet us there at 9:00am. We will have 'chase vehicles' that can follow us with our drinks & ice & handouts and can pick up those who can't make the distance. Those who only wish to walk 3+ miles will post up at Central and Thomas and wave signs until the main group gets to them, and they join us. Those who want to do two + miles post up at Central and McDowell Rd and wave signs. Those who are going to walk 1+ miles post up at Central and Van Buren, and those who want to just wave signs but not walk will wait for us all at Chase Field! This spreads our signs across a every main intersection, and the main group gets larger with every mile. We also need to get an accurate count of who wants to see the ballgame as a group and we will get a group of seats together and MAKE SOME NOISE!

That Sunday is "Maricopa County Republicans Day" at Chase Field.

AND - if there are any brave runners, they can start further up Central Avenue whatever distance they want, and start early enough to meet us at Steele Park at 9:00am.

We will also have a videographer to document the event.

There will be a teleconference on Saturday afternoon for those interested in planning for August 26th:

Date: Saturday, August 18, 2007
Start Time: 04:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Dial-in Number: 1-[masked] (Midwest)

Participant Access Code: 26447

This teleconference is NATIONAL, for which we will be using as a guide for our local effort.

Jo Clute is the Event Coordinator for this event.

See this thread on the message board for more info:

Please note in your RSVP where you will be starting from, so we can keep track of everyone, and whether you will be attending the game with us or not.

This is going to be a FUN event!

I feel honored to be in such good company! Everyone was truly helpful, and I wouldn't say 'happy' - the word that comes to mind is elated! I think we all got some healthy release, both physical and mental. Shouting is good for you!

I'm at a loss on Central. It was the statement that needed to be made -to march down central, but maybe... I don't know. We can't help that our Central Avenue is not where it's at. Oh well, I think we did great though. It was my first event with the group and it was so great to meet all of you! The miles just flew by.

It was AWESOME!! We had at least 100 people marching in the heat! We got the word out to a lot of people! Great job everyone!!!!! Thanks for all your dedication. Can't wait for the next HUGE event!
    •  first of all a big shout out to Ed for organising the event and to everyone else who participated.I know sunday was a low traffic day but that date was the national walk for Ron date already set. I agree our next march should be somewhere with more traffic, but as a realtively new group and fairly short notice i think we did a pretty good job at organising ourselves and getting this show on the road.We will just keep getting better and better. i look forward to our next event. thanks again all.
    •  You guys did a great job! Ron Paul should put you on staff!
    •  THis was a great event. Thanks Ed for your leadership on this event.
    •  It was great except the shoes I was wearing rubbed huge blisters on my toes (I knew I should have bought a different pair for the march), and I'm just barely getting over the flu so I had to bail out at roosevelt and call my ride, but you were so inspiring Ed...it was a great turnout!
