Downtown Buffalo's New Year's Eve ball drop will feature music, fireworks, appearances by local celebrities and video walls broadcasting the Times Square ball drop.
Details about the event, happening in Roosevelt Plaza in front of the Electric Tower, are being unveiled at a news conference this hour.
The event will begin at 10:30 p.m. with a performance by Caitlin Koch and the Jamie Moses Band.
Sabretooth, the Buffalo Sabres mascot, area celebrities and elected leaders will be on hand.
Roosevelt Plaza is located at the intersections of Washington, Genesee and Huron streets.
The event, which is organized by the Buffalo Police Athletic League, is sponsored by Independent Health, Chevy Dealers of Western New York, Iskalo Development, Veolia Water, Just Pizza, Tim Hortons, Local Edge Media and 97 Rock, WGRF-FM.
