THE MOVABLE GREENHOUSE WORKSHOP

Year-round vegetable production is possible and liberating! In this workshop we will provide information about how to extend your season and we will study the benefits of passive solar greenhouses and hoophouses. The course will be both in a classroom setting as well as hands-on work sessions and you will receive a detailed description of which hardy vegetables can be harvested during the winter months.

We will be joined by Julia & Charles Yelton, who are masters of permaculture and are well-versed in season extension, with many years of experience. We will look closely at Eliot Coleman's methods of winter harvesting. We believe, as Eliot does, "good quality food produces quality people". True quality food should be organic, seasonal and local.
The workshop activities will include rejuvenating a movable greenhouse/hoophouse, building swales to control water runoff, using compost and planting seedlings.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
