"Roots & History" club is the community project for the exploration, celebration and preservation of our family stories. It was launched in Fall 07 by Young Leaders -- a group of young professionals who volonteer at HIAS (Hebrew Immigration Aid Society) in New York.
As the leader in rescuing, reuniting, and resettling Jewish refugees since the 19th century, HIAS has developed a unique knowledge of the history of Jewish immigration. YOU have a chance to tap into this wealth of knowledge and discover your own family story. To learn more about HIAS, visit www.hias.org.

Join Valery Bazarov, the HIAS Family History expert, and a group of other young enthusiasts for monthly club meetings, where in a friendly setting you will learn about Jewish genealogy and gain hands-on experience in conducting your own genealogical research.

Club Membership Fee: $18 annually (HIAS Young Leaders membership)

(there is no fee for joining this Meet Up group)

What members are saying

In informal setting we learn a great deal of history and can share our research results. Unique information is shared. Personal family history could be recreated and lost links found. ...

Others should join this Meetup group because it is a fun and fascinating way to learn about our collective past and to receive guidance in searching for our own roots.
