Fall Foliage and Little Red Riding Hood

I shot yesterday at Roswell Mill and it is gorgeous down there, but still a week away from Peak. Models Donna Rogers and Juliette Carrion will be doing a fall fashion shoot at Roswell Mill.

For those of you who have not been there, there is a covered bridge, waterfalls, remnants of the old Mill, where confederate uniforms were made, and miles of walking trails.

As a bonus, Juliette will be wearing her Little Red Riding Hood costume for part of the shoot, so we will photographing her in the woods on her way to Grandma's house:)

This is a Rain or Shine Event as we can shoot on the covered bridge and the model will be prepared for a fashion shoot in the rain.  Should it rain, all you need is a $2 poncho and a plastic cover for your camera which is available at any camera store (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=469774&Q=&is=REG&A=details).

Refunds will be given.

I would highly discourage the use of light stands, umbrellas or soft boxes, as Roswell has strict rules against "professional" photography.  Unless you have a Roswell Photographers Permit (I do), I would highly encourage natural light or on camera flash.  If you have any questions post them to the board, as I am sure others have the same question.

So sorry we missed you. By the time you got there we were wrapping up. We started right on time, so we ended on time. Next one will be street fashion photography in Atlanta. Keep an eye out for an announcement soon.

For those of you attending tomorrow, please wear hiking boots or a good quality shoe. Some of this in in the woods, and there are sticks and branches to deal with. Also, there is a chance one of the models will let us shoot her down low in front of the waterfalls. This requires literally climbing down a hill. So, if you are interested in getting some of those shots, wear clothes you don't care about. Its not a real difficult climb, but it does take some effort and you may get some dirt on you. It will make sense when we get there.

Is there away I can bring the money to the shoot?

    November 8, 2013

    • Lou R.

I don't normally allow that, but since I have enough registered to pay the models I can do that.

This would be my first meetup with you all if all goes well. How long will we shoot as I get off work at 11am on Sundays?

Thank you Lou, I guess I will hang around you to see if I am photographing them right. Do you know a good place to purchase a Light Meter; I want to see about picking up one Saturday morning when I get off work?

I'm fine working with reflector or diffused camera flash but still concerned about not having photography permit. Will we be fine as long as we don't bring in big modifying lights or are we covered under your permit? It will be obvious we are not some mom just taking a shot of her kid. lol

You are not covered under my permit, but the permit is only necessary for commercial photography. We are not shooting commercially. It a workshop. You're a student. If you have concerns I would call The City of Roswell. I've tried and trust me they don't know themselves. I've held off on this shoot for over a year because if the uncertanty, but have watched countless others do meet ups there with no issues. Just be courteous and we'll be fine.
