Mentor-Network Event: The Impact of Cross Border Issues on B.C. Businesses

We are pleased that Rotary Club of Vancouver members Gordon Esau, Partner, Dentons Canada LLP and Mark Startup, VP, Retail Council of Canada, will be hosting our function.

The event will begin with appetizers and light refreshments followed by a brief facilitated networking session providing attendees the opportunity to connect at the business level. You are encouraged to bring your business cards and stories to share with the group.

The evening's highlight will feature our hosts presenting on the impact of cross border issues on B.C. Businesses.

Gordon Esau will be presenting on the impact of globalization on the legal profession, and Mark Startup will speak on Black Friday, cross border shopping and tariffs.

There will be time for Q&A and the opportunity to connect with the group. Time permitting, we may be treated to a tour of some of the intriguing high-tech facilities and features at the Dentons Vancouver offices.

We look forward to seeing you on November 20th!

Many thanks to Gordon Esau and Mark Startup for hosting this great event. We had 21 happy attendees :-) If anyone's interested in following-up on the topic of cross-border shopping, I see that CBC Television's Marketplace is featuring a story on this topic on Friday, November 22. Very much enjoyed the interaction with all in attendance, the presentations by Mark and Gordon, and special thanks to Nick Blom for adding character and context to an informative show, just by being there! And pretty nice digs Gordon.

Very interesting and informative. Gordon ESAU's mini lecture was the best part of the evening.

Looking forward to hearing Mark Startup's ideas about Black Friday and seeing Denton's offices. I hear they are quite 21st century.
