Introduction
June marks 1 year of trying to write fiction, and encouragement is life to a newbie! This group is chock full of helpful, encouraging, knowledgeable people--a great place to be.

Are you involved in any writing (or writing-related) activities you'd like to mention?
Tried NaNoWriMo this year . . . a lot of words, but a lot of fun, too! I'm planning a July 50K write-a-thon, a sort of very informal nano. You're invited! I'll put put more information on the message board.
What genres / forms do you enjoy writing; Reading?; what would you like to try?
Novels seem to fit me best; might try short stories. But length seems to be more of a function of character and story. Right now one of my favorite forms of reading is books on writing! In addition to reading my favorite authors.
What would you like to see happen at the meetings? Between meetings?
I'm willing! A book-based writing workshop & a peer-group critique workshop. See the message board under Meetups or in the Admin section.
OH, Yes -- and your favorite Treat? (any kind) Have a Goal you'd like to share?
A new reference book! Or maybe Audible gift cards? Goals--Let's see ... Develop more Depth in writing. Work on the mind's ear for the music of the language. Probably take a lifetime, those two things.

In addition to fiction writers in many genres, there are some screenwriters, songwriters, and some paint as well. So interesting to hear creativity coming out in all sorts of ways.
