The Texas Book Festival

If you've never been to the Texas Book Festival, for the past seventeen years, you've been depriving yourself of the only good thing that occurs on 11th Street.

10/4 update: The schedules are available now -- a separate one for Saturday and Sunday. The title of each event is a link to more info about it. If you are interested in a particular event, click on the My Schedule bar at the bottom of the event and it will be saved for you. Select as many as you like. You will then be able to edit your own personalized schedule, remove time conflicts, and print it out.

9/11 update: The list of authors has been posted. If it holds true to previous years, this list will be updated daily until the weekend of the festival.

Please note: this is a two-day event. You can come and go as you please, and there's free parking in the garage just one block east of the Capitol.

This announcement isn't an official RRWG meeting, but please RSVP yes if you intend to go.

See you there.

Not as good as in prior years, but still a great, exciting literary happening. "Bringing the Classics Back" was very enlightening. "Lawrence of Arabia" was fascinating. But missed probably the most incredible author at the Festival, Reza Aslan, assuming he was there.

I'm going on Saturday afternoon if anyone would like to ride with me?

The schedule of events is available now. Select everything you want to go to, and it'll be saved in "My Schedule". Then you can edit out your scheduling conflicts for a printable, personalized schedule. Or, leave them in as alternatives in case your first choice is too crowded.

Sorry, fumble fingers, Sorry, I'm getting back to you at the last minute...busy busy here. I'm going to the festival, but I won't be carpooling with you. I'll be taking my daughter, she's meeting up with her LA teacher and some classmates for the Young Adult events tomorrow.
