I have been a member of Royal River Chorus since 1985 and enjoyed every minute of it. Over the years, I have had many jobs (teacher, speech therapist, software consultant, etc.). Currently I work as an eldercare provider.
Royal River Chorus has been my outlet for harmonizing and creativity, challenging myself to be the best I can be, developing leadership skills and computer skills, and most of all making friends. During my child-rearing years, Royal River gave me the "ME" time I needed, and I made friends with other mothers in the chorus. Our children have all grown up together. After 30 years in the group, I still feel the excitement when we "ring" chords and when we amaze an audience with our energetic and professional performances. People come and go over the years in the group, but ALL of them hold Royal River in their hearts and visit us often. Anyone who joins this group will wish they had found Royal River years ago.
I'm about an hour from Brunswick, so not too far! I'm an hour from just about everything, so I really don't mind driving. I've got a doctor's appointment on Friday, so that's why I can't make the meet up, but I will be there on Wednesday. Thanks for the directions!
Do you mean - have the singing group at my house? I don't mind that but my house is a small ranch. And Windham might be too far for some. I could go as far as Yarmouth or Freeport. I would just go to the ones that are in the right location.
if this is in Brunswick I can't travel that far. Anywhere around the portland or Windham area is fine.
Oh, Sharon, I'm huffing along, too. I'm pretty active in the run-around, got-9-places-to-go-on-lunch-hour sort of way, but the real walking-and-talking-and-chewing-gum way is definitely harder!
I just moved. Yaaay! I have to go to Waterford to get stuff out of the barn on Sat., and I'm still living out of boxes, but meeting on Sun. might be possible. And definitely more fun than unpacking! And yeah, I'd like to host/attend things in the Auburn area, too. What's going on at Beaver Park? (I can't navigate back to the Meetup notice. LOL).
I live in Pittston. This would be fun as long as I know others are huffing and puffing with me. I stroll around stores and make it fine but taking a serious walk for 20 minutes at an average pace leaves me gasping for air. But I long to be back on the trail.
I would be interested, I live and work full time in auburn
Hey, Sue! I think this is a great idea. I wonder where/when you think most of the activities will take place. I am moving from the Lakes Region to Lewiston, and I work full time, office hours. If I host some after work or weekend ideas, would others be interested?
