Daytime Hill Time!

** note location change!!**

In preparation for an event I am training for, the intensity of this ride is raising - May target is 4,000 feet of climbing. June will be 5K.

This weekly ride series is intended to be a training opportunity for the intermediate-to-advanced level cyclist that wants to improve his/her climbing skills. This is a good training ride for those registered for Cycle Oregon (and other similar big/hilly rides). We'll get better by doing it - even if it means grinding and sweating our way to the top and chanting our mantra, "just keep pedaling!" Then we'll enjoy the sweet reward of well-earned, delightful descents (not to mention bragging rights!)

This is not a beginner ride. Routes will vary each week between distances of 30-45 miles and include 3-5 vigorous climbs plus rolling hills (minimum of 3,500- usually closer to 4-5K feet of elevation gain).

Ride leader: Carolyn Jen[masked]

Meeting Point: Starbucks Coffee at Bethany Village (see address above)

****************************************************

The Route:
This will vary each week but will usually be 30-45 miles and include at least 3-4 good climbs and lots of rollers/climbs. Skyline Road and the rural roads surrounding it will be our playground.

Type of ride: This is an intermediate/advanced level training ride. We will regroup at hilltops and major turns.

Weather Cancellation Policy.Rainy forecasts may cause us to bump the ride to a different day. RSPV to get updates. Changes will be posted in the COMMENTS section no later than 2 hours before the start time.

****************************************************

Mandatory for all riders.

Helmets must be worn at all times while riding. This is a requirement and not a request. Obey traffic laws and remember you’re a representative of the greater cycling community and should conduct yourself that way on the road. Represent us well!

Have your bike in good working order and bring a flat kit & the right size spare tube on all rides. There are no mechanics scheduled to join us. Be prepared or bring a cell phone.

One possible route but still have some ideas. I will be traveling from Gresham but I think I can make it to this start point in time. Once I finalize the route I will confirm starting location too. Sorry about all the changes but my schedule is crazy this month and posting these rides with tentative data was one way to make sure they happened on my schedule! http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4640822

I like it when the rides are on my side of town. You might consider planning a ride in the Happy Valley area. There are some great hills if you are looking for diversity.

That area is too far for me :(

That's how I feel about all the rides out in Hillsboro. But, we do what we can.

Will try to post the route this week.
