Logie Trail and Rocky Point - 56 miles

Ride Description:  Enjoy a gorgeous August day climbing two of the longer Highway 30 to Skyline roads, Logie Trail and Rocky Point. Both are steep sustained climbs of 2.6 miles and 4.1 miles respectively, so if you are training for CO or other event, this will surely help out.  We will also be doing the length of Skyline in both directions which in itself is quite a bit of climbing.

We will stop at the Skyline school for water/break in both directions to fuel up before/after our efforts and definitely stop to take in the view at the top of Rocky Point.

This is not an easy ride. There is a lot of uphill (6,000+) on the route and everyone climbs at their own pace. We will regroup at the top of each hill and other places as needed.

Depending upon how everyone is doing, we may add Greenleaf as a little end of ride "kicker"!

Where: Foot of the bike path. Lots of parking available.

When: 10am, Leaving at 10:15

Route: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/5728121

Type:Intermediate/Advanced, but social. Own pace up/down and steady in between.

Helmets  Must be worn at all times while riding.  This is one of the basic ways we protect ourselves from injury.

Bring a right-size spare tube, tools, adequate food and water and be able to change a flat.

Your bike must be in in good working order. The descents down Logie and Rocky Point are FAST and you do not want your bike to fail you at 45mph.

No ear buds or listening devices.  For safety reasons, please leave your music at home or in the car.  We need all riders to be fully alert; wearing ear buds can be a distraction and increases the risk for the group.

Water: At Skyline school

Ride Difficulty: CD/5  *Difficult*

I am a bike commuter and ride from Bethany to the area around Mall 205 everyday (going up to Skyline). I want to do this ride but my legs are spent. So I am going to back out. I hope all of you have a nice ride and catch you next time.

Last 3 days and ending the ride with this climb is scaring me. I really appreciate your setting this up but I hope I can free up this spot for some real climbers!!
