I would like to try out riding in groups more since I have usually ridden alone. I also am thinking about doing the STP next year and am thinking some group riding might help me get ready and maybe even connect with someone to do it with.
In the summer I ride several times a week. During the week I ride from 1/2 to 1 hour. On weekends I try to do a 2 or 3 hour ride. I average about 15 mph when there are long stretches without stops.
I did the Harvest Century last fall. Since then, it is probably 25 or 30 miles.
I lean towards intermediate rides with an occasional challenging ride. A good challenge for me is to start in SE, ride up Terwilliger and then up to Council Crest, then continue to the Zoo and then return to SE.
I like rides that don't have a lot of stops. From where I live in SE, I like the Springwater Corridor, going out the 205 corridor to Marine Drive, over to Terwilliger and down to Lake Oswego or up to Council Crest, or just up and down Lincoln and up to Mt. Tabor and then sometimes over to Rocky Butte. I have also enjoyed rides that circle down through Canby or go up to the Vista house at the mouth of the Gorge.
Hi, I live on SE 46th near Division and I love to bicycle and upgraded my hybrid to a nice road bike a few years ago and do a lot of riding from home. I try to do a few events a year and am no speedster but have done a couple centuries.
I really enjoy the people and the rides.
