Introduction

Previous member, just looking to find some more casual rides around town.

Why do you join BOB? Select 1 or more: Train for an event , which event? Make friends. Start exercising. New riding routes. Other (please specify)

Make friends, find casual rides to go on.

How often do you ride? How long do you ride? At what speed do you ride?

I ride most every day but usually short distances. I do like to get in a 20-30 mile ride once a week or so.

What has been the longest ride you have been on recently?

Longest ride I have been on recently was about 22 miles, took me about two hours.

Which type of rides will you prefer? Short (easy 10-20 mile) casual? Intermediate (12 mph or so, 35 mile plus)? Women only? Challenging (40 mile plus with hills, 16 mph)? A mix or other (please specify)

I prefer short, casual rides with a destination in mind, I average 10mph on longer rides (a long ride to me is 20+miles).

What areas would you like ride ?

All over really, I tend to stick to the eastside since that is the area I live in currently.

  • Hi Jim: Senior Rollers are mostly retired people. That's why they roll on Mondays. Because they CAN.

  • Hi, Jim,

23 miles can be a bit long for "real" beginners, but most folks who sign up for group rides have some experience and, in my view, it isn't the distance that is the problem for beginners. Most folks can ride for two hours as long as the pace is appropriate and the terrain is forgiving. We'll be doing 10-12 mph average on the flats and, it being a Novice ride, we'll adjust as we see the need for it. Hope you can join us for a ride soon.

  • Oh hey, cool! Isn't GURPS a superhero rpg? I'm curious if you might have a slot open for a new hero. Thanks for reading XD

  • He's my husband... I think being his "friend" is in the contract somewhere.
