Monthly RAOS Meeting

The presentation for our June meeting will be given by Sean Larkin.

Sean will be helping us explore the world of XMPP/Jabber with Ruby and the XMPP4R-Simple gem, along with a few others.

I'm trying to get started learning Ruby on Rails and I made painstakingly slow progress on Windows, so I just switched to Kubuntu, but now I can't even get as far as I was before. Could somebody help me? I think I know the problem.

I'm using RVM, but when I run "which gem" its pointing to a non-rvm location. I can create a new rails project, but when I try to run bundle install it doesn't work.

I'd also recommend we start a thread on this topic in the discussion area. Could be useful to someone else in the future.

I agree with Randy's call for a thread in the discussion area. Having gotten set up with Vagrant, it has been the best testing/development experience by far.

Great presentation on Jabber chat bots, I'm definitely going to be tinkering with that!

Anyone familiar with Go also called Golang? Read a bit about it over the weekend and on the surface looks very promising. If it can deliver, I would love to see a presentation on it.
