Full-time Experienced Ruby on Rails Developer needed in Albuquerque area

Post #: 1
At VIZZIA Technologies, we're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer to join our team. We develop applications using real-time sensors to provide operational insight and analytics for business process improvement.

Business is moving fast, so the ability to be flexible and deal well with change is necessary. We tend to work hard, but we are also very flexible about office hours and emphasize a work-life balance.

This position will also interface directly with clients, management, etc., so the ability to work well in that environment is important. We would prefer a developer that is local to the Albuquerque, NM area, but that developer will be able to work from home, at least part-time.

The following is a list of our technical qualifications, in order of importance:
Rails/Ruby (3+ years)
- BDD/TDD using RSpec and Cucumber (HUGE plus)
Javascript (3+ years)
- OpenLayers (HUGE plus)
- BDD/TDD with a framework such as Jasmine (HUGE plus)
- jQuery
HTML/CSS (some experience is a prerequisite, but this is not a designer position)
Linux (you need to have *some* experience, but not administrator-level skills)
- Ubuntu Server

The most important skills we are looking for at the moment are Rails (especially BDD) and Javascript. A qualified applicant should also know their way around the Bash shell. Other qualifications would be great to have, but they aren't necessary on day one. However, you would be expected to get up to speed quickly with the other tools.

You will be working with other developers and interns to exchange knowledge of the tool set and best design practices.

Qualified candidates should email resume and salary requirements with subject "Experienced Ruby on Rails Developer".

No consultants, headhunters or outsourcing firms will be accepted. Proof of US Citizenship or permanent Authorization to Work in the US is a prerequisite. Experience will be confirmed by references.
