Epping - new route, walk, pub, walk, pub (in that order)

  • As stated in Event Text

This will be a new route straight across the Forest from Epping to Chingford it's something like 7-9 miles depending what route we take. There is a nice pub conveniently right in the middle and another at the end.

Starting in the northeast fringes of London, the fantastic ancient woodland of Epping Forest stretches along a high gravel ridge for almost 20km into the Essex countryside.

Originally a royal hunting ground Epping Forest was opened to the public in 1878. At six thousand acres it is London’s largest open space, it’s sheer scale is amazing. This is quite a long one so we'll stop for a drink in a pub in the forest halfway. We will finish at another massive pub at the end of the day, loads of room for everyone and good cheap meals so we have the health and the tipple all in one day! :)

Have a look at the photos and reviews from a previous walk here..... http://www.meetup.com/Green-London-Walks-Days-out-and-Weekends/events/41376662/

Guess what I think? Anyway thanks Lorren and Soggy. Lorren you are welcome to bring your dog, as long as you put it on the lead when I ask, which will be near to the roads we have to cross. See you all there. Cath :)

I don't begrudge the £5 at all, I think it is a bargain. The organiser of these things is obviously working very hard for the group and will have a certain amount of expenses.

I agree with Lorren. Thanks for your post, I fear my comments were going to be too blunt.

HI there, I have just joined the group but am wondering if well-behaved dogs are allowed? I have a small jack russell/yorkie who is well-trained and well behaved.
