Thank you guys so much for joining up with my new group. I have a feeling that we're going to be a pretty active group because there are a slew of good runners here in Western Mass. And I should know; they kick me to the curb all the time. But runners are surely the greatest people in the world - so a runners club for singles is to be envied. Run hot! I already have a logo for the t-shirts... But I digress...
What I wanted to say was that I need input from you to make the club work well. For example, it's definitely the worst time of the year to start a running club. We're losing sunlight at about 5:00, so I think after work runs are out until at least February. I can barely get seven miles in, running out my front door after work. If anyone has a good route that's well lit, let me; let us know. I also want to schedule runs for everyone. If Cheryl in Athol wants to host a run in her local area, I can schedule something for her as long as she's willing to host. It can be a win-win for everyone. And I need ideas of cool weekend routes too. I can schedule anything you want, as long as someone is willing to host if I can't make it. My custody schedule sometimes has me tied up tighter than I want to be, so to keep things going, I may need to lean on the membership sometimes.

This running or walking meetup is open to everyone, newbies who are looking to start, weekend joggers, or seasoned marathoners looking for the renewed inspiration that comes from the companionship of other people sharing their passion for this sport. It's all about making friends who run or walk. We'll share our knowledge on exercise, weight loss, gear, training tips and techniques, racing, injury prevention and recovery, all while sharing a good time. Distances and pace can be determined with each meet or broken up into separate groups. DISCLAIMER: Please remember you must maintain a certain level of fitness to join.
