Last plea for research participants!!

NEED BF and Vibram runners for research into balance and what footwear you train in. Need to run at least 6-9 miles a week average in vibrams or barefoot. IF you also train in other footwear, it is okay as long as at least 6-9 miles are in BF or vibrams. PLEASE help us understand more about BF running. Have to test within the next 2 weeks, all times open include weekends. Only need to come once for about 45 minutes

Study was finished and was published in ACSM'S med science sports and exercise as abstract. Basically was no statistically significant differences in balance between habitually shod and barefoot runners in the balance measures we used. Just a piece of the puzzle

I assume the study is either done, or fizzled. If it's done where can I see the results?

Crap. Just found this group. I'm a huge supporter of vibrams and the minimal/BF running concept. I first proved on myself, then helped my wife, both daughters (one very heavy), and several friends who, like me, could not run in "real" running shoes without injury. I went from 220lb and 58 min 5k, to 185 and 2:30 half marathon from Feb to Nov of 2011. Today, I've had my up's and downs and learned a lot, but aside from overdoing it and blowing a calf once, I've been injury free since early 2011... all founded on the Barefoot/natural principles. I wish I could have helped with this study.

Cool! Just saw this. Rusty, I've been running barefoot averaging about 10miles per week for a year. However, the last two months I've averaged about 4 per week. Would I be able to help?

Don't know Kai yet but i went and looked at his racing history and read his blog. He's got some sub 24 hr hundo's... I've DNF'd at 2 hundreds already so this next one has to be a charm. Got a couple 100k's completed out in Bandera. First 50k and 100k were in VFF'S but moved to the MT10's then the MT110's, now I'm planning on using the MT1010's. That being said I do all (90%) my road training and most of my road racing BF. I've experimented BF on the trails but got a mesquite thorn once and had to get it cut out. If I'm gonna try for a PR on the road I really like my vivobarefoot ultra's.

I've been using Vibrams/barefoot since Feb 2011. I ran my first (only so far) half marathon in them.
