Speak Russian and English

Like any satisfying meal, our meetings consist of three courses. The first course is formed by the Prepared Speeches. Following the format of the Toastmasters manuals, the prepared speech is given by our members to inspire, entertain or inform us on topics which are often most unexpected. It is a rare meeting when we are not moved to laughter, or tears, or both! The speeches may be in English or in Russian, but all follow a common aim - the pursuit of excellence in creating and delivering our speeches. The second course, often very spicy and exciting, is the Table Topics session, where anyone, members or guests, may be given the floor and a topic to talk on. This is not an examination but a mini speech where you have a chance to perfect the most valuable communication skill of all - the impromptu speech. How often have you been handed the chance to shine, in front of your boss, your clients or an important social occasion? How often have you ducked it or fluffed it, feeling that you have missed an opportunity? Come along and practice in total safety. We want you to succeed and you will experience the thrill of the audience's applause. The final course is filled with the Evaluations, our members telling us what they liked about the prepared and impromptu speeches, offering helpful and kind insights into how improvements could be made. The meeting is led by a Toastmaster who keeps us on time and ensures that all guests are made welcome. After the meeting many of our members unwind by having an informal get-together in one of Canary Wharf's excellent bars.

All members and guests welcome, but please RSVP to confirm if you are planning to attend.

It is essential that all members and guests are on the security list for our venue, so please do not turn up unexpected.

If this is your first visit to our club, please email us on [masked] to tell us your full name so that we can check you in with the venue security.

It is very important that no one attempts to come to a meeting without being registered with our corporate hosts first. For this reason we do not publish the address in Meetup, and I will remove messages which publish the venue or the address. We will ensure that the confirmation email has the full address with post code and a map - you do need all this especially when approaching via the shopping malls. Sorry for Mantas' frustration, and I hope it will not put him off coming in future.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
