July 14th, Canary Wharf

Note: change of venue!

Join us on Monday, July 14th for another evening of fun and thought-provoking speeches.

Learn, network and socialize in our little hub of Russian in London - all of this for free!

All our meetings are followed by drinks and snacks in a Canary Wharf pub.

To register, please confirm by Monday morning 8 AM latest and let us know your full name. If you don't register on time we cannot guarantee you access to the building - unless you are accompanied by someone else who is registered (i.e. those who register can also bring their friends).

Our meetings have become a regular networking event in London's Russian-speaking community, also offering a place for social, cultural and professional exchange. The club is a constituent of Toastmasters International, founded in 1924 to help young adults excel in their leadership and communication skills. It produced famous alumni such as Jim Lovell, commander of Apollo 13, and Home Improvement comedian Tim Allen. We meet every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of the month + on occasional special events & workshops.

Everyone is welcome to attend, for free, and as often as you like

wonderful group of seriously deluded individuals with utter loss of sense of direction, bizarre hierarchy of 20 or so people having a president and clapping every 2 minutes like a herd of mentally retarded seals. the scene from “One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest “ when nurse Ratched had a therapy session with her mental patients is quite similar to what goes on . Public speaking is an art form and needs to be learned with a professional coach not in a group of people who have no idea whatsoever of any of the technics but merely relying on their subjective perceptions.
good free nibbles though and was great to see old familiar faces! :-) :-):-)

Guys and gals, I am going to close this thread down, as we are not really a discussion forum here -- it's a comments box. Some people like certain things, others like other things. Shall we cease commenting please. Look forwards to seeing some of you again with us, and other of you again in other places. All the best to you all. Colm

I thoroughly enjoyed the event yesterday. I can see enthusiasm flowing. There were some sharp & witty minds who spoke, I definitely would love to learn from them. Thank you for organizing and see you at the next event!

As always a fun Anglo Russian supportive environment in which to improve public speaking. Loved the Hilton and their hospitality although background music clashed with Evgeniy Onegin. The new leaders really shone in their roles. Their enthusiasm was evident!

Glad you enjoyed the evening! The background music gives me the idea of an updated Onegin, crying into his beer in an all night bar.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
