NY Karnaval and Talent show!

Please join us for the only Elka (that I'm aware of) simple enough for the Toddlers and fun enough for the older crowd. Here's our plan:

We'll start with a few crafts, one set for the tiny fingers and one for the 4+ artists, to let the kids get comfortable and the parents get acquainted. We'll then do a little "warm up" with traditional NY songs, and then have a talent show by the older crowd. Last year, we had songs, and stories, and I think even a gymnastics demo! The little ones will be welcome to go on "stage" and show off their costumes.

After all the talents have been shown, we'll have light snacks. If there's a volounteer Ded Moroz, he could come visit, but if not, we'll spin some tale, give out presents, and call it a day!

 

Please RSVP by 12/23, letting me know the ballpark age of your star!

Estimating cost at $5 per child assuming we can resolve a location - please help me find one!

    Anna T and all, I haven't found a place yet, though I've two leads to follow up on. I hope to have a verdict by Thursday, but you can make sure our Karnaval happens by helping to find a room large enough for 45 people- at the end of the day I am just another mom, with the same resources and same lack of time as you.

    Julia S (and anyone else) there shouldn't be a guest restriction, but things may change when we settle on a space. If we can't find anything large enough, we may have to ask that at most 1 adult comes with every child. Please help us find a space!

    regarding location: It's likely to be somewhere between South San Jose and Foster city. Of the last 3, 1 was in San Jose, and 2 were in var. parts of Mountain view - it all depends on where we can find a clubhouse large enough and cheap enough. Do you know someplace we can hold it?

    Svetlana (and anyone else interested in details):
    this is a parent-organized event. In the past, it's varied from a parent-produced 10 minute holiday show, with a tree, Ded Moroz, podarochki and the whole she-bang, to a very basic talent show by the 3-7yos for the .5-3 yos (with food and gifts, still). Basically, if I organize the whole even on my own, with no help, it'll be some NY-related sing-alongs, followed by a talent show from the older kids, followed by food and shmoozing. All kids walk away with non-sugary gifts and the cost is roughly $5/kid. If I get help, the sky's the limit!
