It seems that many social groups, as well as many opportunities we have to meet new people, tend to revolve around drinking. While it is a common activity among 20 to 40 year olds +, events where alcohol is a central focus may not provide an ideal atmosphere or solid foundation upon which quality, lasting friendships and relationships can be built.

It is often challenging for those of us who don't drink to find opportunities and venues where we can socialize with like minded individuals. This group was created to bring people together who are interested in making new friends, participating in social outings, and exploring what Syracuse and Central New York have to offer without the all too common theme of drinking! The outings and meet-ups this group organizes will all be non-alcoholic affairs. Some may well take place at locations where alcohol is served, such as sporting events, concerts, or even at bars to see a local band; however, the members of this group should all be non-drinkers (or, at the very least, agree not to drink at meet-ups this group organizes). It is my goal to create a fun, exciting, dynamic alcohol free social atmosphere for people of all ages and backgrounds.

You should join this group if: 1-You don't drink, and find it difficult to meet people who have also made this lifestyle choice. 2-You are tired of alcohol being the focal point of the social gatherings you attend. 3- This sounds like a group you would just like to be part of.

You don't necessarily have to be a non-drinker to join. All we ask is that if you choose to join the group and attend meet-ups, drinking not be part of the outings and events for you.

I feel there is a growing need for this type of group. So become a part of a new trend in socializing, tell your friends, and begin meeting exciting people of like mind!
