Day Hike (1A) Carlon Falls, YNP (Tuolumne Group)

Carlon Falls in western Yosemite National Park: This hike starts at the South Fork Tuolumne River bridge on Evergreen Road. See page 30 of Hap Barhydt's "Hiking between Groveland and Yosemite" for details of the 2.3 mile easy hike with just 100 feet elevation change. Pack a picnic lunch to eat at the Carlon day use area following the hike. Carry water, snacks, etc, with hiking staff optional. Meet at Groveland Laveroni Park, 8 a.m. to car pool.

This weekly hike has a large Sierra Club following who are not members of Meetup :) So, if you only see one RSVP here don't worry there are usually a minimum of 15 people who go on these hikes each week!

Bring a jacket, water, sunscreen and a snack in a daypack and wear hiking boots.  Call Frank Oyung for further details, (209)[masked]

The difficulty of each trip is usually rated with a Classification that is explained in the Important Outings Information.

Also, each outing participant must have the Essentials, which are also listed in

Important Outings Information.
