There will be a Gaiwan Demonstration tomorrow, March 25, 2-4pm at Garden Tea Lounge at Craftiques Mall, 2375 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78231. The tea lounge is all the way to the rear of the mall.
"Gaiwan" is the Chinese word for a lidded cup which is used like a teapot for steeping tea leaves. Use of the gaiwan takes a little practice to develop one's skill in the proper technique for making great tea and avoiding scalding one's fingers. A live demonstration, where viewers can ask questions, is a good opportunity to learn a lot in a short, enjoyable experience (i'm assuming we will be allowed to taste the tea as it is made).
I'm planning to be there in order to meet the person doing the demo and to improve my gaiwan technique. I haven't posted it as an official meetup, but I'd love to have the company of some fellow SATHE members to share the experience with.
