Tea, Health, and Weight Control

Tea, Health, and Weight Control

Most of us locals love our iced “sweet tea” but are missing out on literally thousands of luscious blends which have become available as the United States re-embraces tea. All of these teas can be served hot or cold, and many are especially good when iced. Our members have discovered new sweeteners, such as agave and stevia, and are able to use less as they find teas which are great, straight-up. Some sweeteners are low on the glycemic index and cause less of a rise and fall in blood sugar levels, so you stay on a more even keel.

Many of the new blends contain aromatic herbs, such as mint and citrus, which augment tea's healthful qualities. Some contain no tea at all, just other nutrient-rich herbs, and thus no caffeine. And then there are teas like Peppermint Pattie, which are delicious and satisfying, like candy. Because it comes in so many flavors, tea makes a great substitute for snacks and desserts. Finding the most satisfying and effective weight loss teas & herbs for each person is a process of trying them out. Our organizer, Dax, can help you in trying out various blends of herbs, custom-mixed to your tastes.

NOTE: Weight loss can be achieved when an appetite-suppressing tea is consumed INSTEAD OF junk food, snacks and desserts -- not in addition to them. A botanical might not agree with a person or it may interact with food or medication. It is the user's responsibility to check for possible allergies or interactions.
