Pete completely abandoned the gym for high-intensity, body weight training techniques, and he is sorry that he didn't discover this a long time ago. This is as intense as you want it to be. All fitness levels are welcome, and all fitness levels benefit. If you like Cross Fit, you are going to love this. This makes P90X look like a warmup routine. The faster you rev the human engine the slower it idles. That's why every workout that we put on is specifically designed to "red-line" your metabolism.
There is a growing body of work that supports the muscle building, cardio strengthening, and fat burning benefits of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)/Tabata. Tabata is the single most effective way to increase VO2 Max, which is the maximum capacity of an individual's body to transport and use oxygen during incremental exercise, and this reflects the physical fitness of the individual. HIIT and Tabata also increase HgH levels. If you stick with this, it will change your body for the better.
Since what we do is HIIT in the sand and on the stairs, we should probably call it the SHIIT!
