Saturday June 21, 2014 is the day of the summer solstice, the longest day of the year and the first day of summer. This is an auspicious time to come together in community. Throughout the years people have used the time of the solstices and equinoxes to celebrate, pray and heal. The morning is an especially good time to open ourselves to the energy of the sun for healing. Join us at Sacred Lands as Lisa Recchione, skillful teacher and healer, leads us through yoga, a gong meditation and a fire ceremony. Since ancient times people have celebrated each solstice and it is believed that the celestial conditions heightens ones abilities to meditate and heal. The Summer Solstice is the day of the year with the longest period of daylight and the shortest length of night. This is a wonderful time to meditate and project. . The class will begin with gentle yoga and breath work followed by the gong which will be played for 50 minutes. The gong vibrations enhance projection and transcendence. There will also be a chakra healing circle. After the practice we will celebrate with a potluck lunch.
Love offering donations are gratefully appreciated to help support Lisa's teaching and the ongoing work of preserving Sacred Lands.
