Sunday Workgroup

I may or may not be attending this particular meeting, but I'll open this in case a group of you want to meet at the library for some Quiet work time. Let me reiterate that there is no meeting room reservation for these workgroup meetings. You could sit down at a table in the main area, or you could grab a group study room as has been done in previous 'workgroup' meetings, which will allow for conversation without the concern for disturbing other library patrons.

Today's workgroup started at 12:30pm and went on until 3pm. Don worked on Javascript.

I was going to focus on Code Academy (I currently have a 49 day streak!) but the glare at our table made reading CA's new color scheme extremely difficult. So instead I dusted off Stencyl and made some modest, yet satisfying progress before hitting a brick wall. Josh and/or Howard's presence would have been extremely helpful. :)
Actually if either of you would be interested in teaching a Stencyl class, I'd be more than happy to create a meeting specifically for that. Don also made me aware of something that is apparently common among Python groups: they're called "lightening talks". I thought that might be a cool extension of our monthly goals. Or maybe a better way to do 'show and tell'. In any event, each meeting you would come prepared to talk about/present something for 5 minutes. We could make it 10 I suppose.

Both small group study rooms are occupied. I even arrived early, though apparently not early enough. we may want to consider other locations for the workgroup meetings. Perhaps a Starbucks. ...I wonder if there is a receptionist at work on the weekends to allow visitors in. That would be pretty awesome.

For Don, and anyone else, I am at a table in the back corner, kind of across from the group study rooms. The glare on the screen is pretty bad from the giant windows, though your eyes adapt somewhat after a few minutes.

I probably won't be attending this weekend either, but I thought I'd post this just in case others want to plan to go.
