Re: [hiking-216] New Meetup: Salado Creek Trail

On the side of Huebner entrance, the office building across the street has given permission to park in their parking lots on the weekends, from what I have heard.  The buildings where the American flag sculpture is in the parking lot.  I am assuming that Friday night would be considered the weekend.   Just returned from there and saw two deer and two loose black dogs chasing a deer.  Pretty scary.  Called 311 and notified STORM.

Roy. All those places you mentioned to park... The park police give parking tickets intermittently. There are only 10 or so real parking spots. This includes areas that are not marked "no parking".

Announcing a new Meetup for The San Antonio Hiking & Outdoors Meetup Group!

What: Salado Creek Trail

When: June 26,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Join Roy and Chris for this Friday hike on the new nature trail along Salado Creek. This is a paved trail, 2.3 miles long between Blanco Road and Huebner. Bike trails continue north to 1604 and beyond...The trails are fairly flat after passing under Huebner, so the hike will be on the easy side. Expect around a 6 mile hike out and back. The start time is a bit later to allow for cooler temps, hopefully. Meet up will be at the Blanco road entrance, there are a few parking spots in the park, but there is plenty of space before the entrance, under the bridge along the road. Please call me if you have any questions. See you there!
