SARR Sunday Long Run - Valero Trailhead 10-Miler

THIS IS A NEW COURSE!!

So let's leave the trail behind and go out for an adventure run!

We'll meet at Valero Trailhead and then head west to UTSA and turn right onto LaCantera Pkwy and go into The Rim shopping area. We'll turn right onto Vance Jackson Rd and run to the 1604 service road. That's 5 miles and we'll turn around there and run back for a TOTAL OF 10 MILES.

Water provided at the start/finish and at the 5-mile turnaround point.

If you want to do fewer than 10 miles, there are two options. You can turn around earlier and do the miles for your specific training schedule, or you can take a right onto the 1604 service road when you get to the 5-mile point (water stop) and head west on the service road back to Valero Trailhead for a total of about 6 miles.

You can usually find someone running your pace and distance for some great conversation during this run. There are a few hills to make this a more interesting and challenging run.

There's plenty of parking at Valero Trailhead, and port-o-potties at the start.

See you there!

Jim, I really liked this route. My first time with the Sunday group. Thanks for what you do for us. The heat & humidity was just like I remember it. Hello summer!

Thomas and Jim Y, thanks for keeping my on pace today. Wish I could have done the 10 miles, but those Fartleks got to me yesterday!

Very friendly group of people. The Jims made me feel very welcome. Was caught out by the hills and the heat. Got a good workout! Thanks to everybody for having me.

Thanks jim for bringing our new friend and running royalty. Els, fabulous to see you run ahead. Sorry about the hills, but they do make you stronger. Or that is what the coaches say.

Yes, that's always a coach's excuse - the hills build character! Thanks, Els, for joining us and stay in touch. Safe travels back to London!

It was another well organized run. It was so nice having an overseas visitor with us today. Storm Catcher (Else) was so friendly and we loved having her join us today.

Is anyone running less than 10 miles. The most I've run lately is 6 so not sure I want to jump to 10. 6-8 would be fine with me.

I plan on doing the 6

I plan on doing 10 miles around 9:00/9:15 minutes per mile.

I'll be doing the full 10 miles also, but maybe around a 9:30/mile.

Would have loved to do the Fiesta Wildflower Ride also! The run looks like fun and I have signed up. Still working on getting there. Anybody who might pass the Aloft Hotel TX78216?

That would be fantastic! Left voicemail.

swarm_catcher I tried returning your call but it has 12 digits and I could not call. Please call me back. I was out in the yard when you called.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
