Boat tour and lunch afterwards in San Pedro - sounds like a nice way to spend a Saturday morning in May! I have not tried this before (though I have lived in Pedro for more than 8 years). Let's check it out together.
*Bring a sweater, hat, sunglasses, etc just in case.
Here is info from the Harbor's website:
Free, 60-minute narrated boat tours of the Port of Los Angeles in celebration of World Trade Week. Tours are from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tour availability is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are located approximately 20 miles south of the Los Angeles International Airport. From the freeways, take 110 South [Harbor Freeway] to the Harbor Boulevard off ramp, and turn right onto Harbor Boulevard. Go one mile to 6th Street, and turn left. Note: If using Google Maps, GPS, or other websites to obtain driving directions, enter our address as “600 Sampson Way, San Pedro CA 90731“. Google Maps does not recognize berth numbers.
The Museum is located at the foot of 6th Street in John S. Gibson Park. The park includes monuments to the US Navy heavy cruiser LOS ANGELES, the Fishing Industry Memorial, the Bloody Thursday Monument, and the American Merchant Marine Veterans Memorial. The Museum is a special facility of the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks.
Free parking is available in the lot across the street from Acapulco Restaurant, south of the Museum.
