This is a community for active and aspiring cooks to share their recipes, cooking tips and instructions, and home-made creations with each other.
Because this is a COOKING club, we will cook and not simply eat (although eating is a major component of our activities). Anyone can put food in their mouth and then declare the dish/restaurant as excellent, mediocre, or sub-par, but can you produce (or reproduce) edible dishes yourself? If not, would you like to learn how to do so? Anyone can eat, but to truly know about food requires that you know how to produce it; that is to say, a real foodie knows how to cook.
The purpose of the South Bay + Long Beach Cooking Meet-Up is to collaborate with fellow cooks of all levels, and to share in our knowledge about food and cooking.
The level of your cooking skills does not matter. We have a few professional cooks as members, as well as some novices. The vast majority of our members, however, are non-professional cooks who simply like to cook and eat, and who enjoy the company of like-minded peers.
We have no required membership fees. However, it costs both money and time to run this site and to host events (especially the potlucks that are held at members' homes). Any donations to our organization would be greatly appreciated, in whatever denomination you see fit--small or large. All monies will be used to help cover the costs to maintain this website.
