Re: [SB-UX-Meetup] Exciting news from the SB UX Meetup team - 200 members and new Co-organizers!

Thank you Kristen. It's been a great pleasure serving the Santa Barbara UX community. And welcome on board J.J. and Josh!

It's exciting to be closer to technology in the bay area but kinda odd to hear people talking about data mining in the farmer's market on a Sunday:)

I'll be back!

Hi all -

First off, my sincerest thanks to Kejun Xu for all the hard work she's done over the past year and a half organizing so many great events and keeping the Santa Barbara UX Meetup going. We'll miss you greatly, Kejun, and we could not have done it without your leadership! We wish her all the best in her new adventures in the Bay Area, and hopes she comes back to visit us soon.

It's a testament to Kejun's contribution that she's being replaced as a co-organizer by not one but two wonderful members of our local UX community: JJ Kercher, Senior Interaction Designer at AppFolio and Joshua Morse, Senior UX Designer at RightScale. Many thanks to both of you for stepping up to help keep this community going strong.

As this meetup group grows and diversifies, we want to continue to make our events as relevant and useful to as many people as possible, so we'll be reaching out soon to find out more about what YOU are hoping to get out of this meetup, as well as seeking ideas for upcoming events. You don't have to be an organizer to share an event idea or plan your own UX-related meetup: feel free to suggest an event on the website, or, if you're feeling a little shy, reach out to one of the co-organizers with your idea, question or suggestion.

And finally, some exciting news: as of today we've reached 200 members! Just a year ago, we were only pushing a couple dozen - it's been exciting for all of us to see so many new faces at every event.
Thanks again for being a part of this great community of user experience practitioners, learners and enthusiasts - and keep an eye out, more exciting news and events from SB UX are coming soon!
