Introduction

I'm the founder of IDEA Cafe and Franklin Circles here in Denver, Colorado, and the new, free Small Business Chamber of Commerce, and co-founder of the new Colorado Almanac and Small Business Directory. I've done business consulting since 1979.

What have you started?

My consulting/adult learning practice, founding President of the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association, a TV/radio show, several businesses, a few newsletters, and a 23 year marriage which ended in 1990.

What are you starting now?

What helps you stimulate your imagination?

Getting together with other people who like thinking outside the box. That's why I've facilitated the IDEA Cafe since 1994, I really enjoy and benefit from the meetings myself!

What are your favorite books? Movies?

EF Schumacher, Small is Beautiful; Thomas Merton, Seven Story Mountain; Malcomb Knowles, Self-Directed Learning; Amar Bhide, Origin & Evolution. 37Signals, Rework. The two "big" books. Recent Movies: There Will Be Blood, Get Low, The Fighter.

How did you hear about the Denver IDEA Cafe?

I started it, thought of the idea taking a walk along the highline canal nearly 20 years ago. I still remember that Aha! moment.
