Drink & Draw @ Elsies Tavern

This is the general Drink & Draw meeting, which currently takes place on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month at Elsie's Tavern. The general focus of the group is practicing figure drawing, concept art, and illustration. Artists in other fields are welcome as well.

The meeting takes place generally either on the couches right inside, or the room to the right (when more people are attending). I'll bringing some kind of sculpture or anatomy figure, as well as some "prompts" that can be used as a basis for drawings.

Elsie's has a nice variety of beers on tap (and wine) and a great atmosphere. Please note that it is cash only, though there is an ATM on site. Elsies isn't marked by a sign, just by the tiny 117 posted above it's door but the building is fairly recognizable by it's isolation, despite being otherwise nondescript. It's on the same block as Silvergreens, which itself is across from California Pizza Kitchen and Eureka burger, in Paseo Nuevo. Hi Barbara. The group primarily draws from anatomy figures and other models, though some people choose to draw from their imagination instead. I'm not sure who else will be definitely going to Dusk till Drawn, but I'll be catching the last third of it that Saturday from 10am to 5pm.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
