Join us on a short 3 mile, 200 ft elev gain hike to the Palos Verdes coast.
We'll start at the east end of the Trump Golf Course, walk along scenic cliffs and make our way down to the shore at low tide to see starfish, sea anemones and other interesting creatures in the tidepools. We will then relax on a beach for a few minutes before heading back up to our cars.
Along the way, we'll talk about the continuing issues between the golf course and Palos Verdes regarding beach and trail access.
Bring: 1 liter of water, comfortable shoes (that may get wet, hiking boots are highly suggested for ankle support on the rocks but not technically necessary), hat/ sun protection, snack, and a good attitude.
Meet at the Free La Rotonda Dr parking lot (east of the main Ocean Trails entrance). Take 110 freeway south until it becomes Gaffey St. Keep going south and turn right (west) on 25th St. Past Westen Avenue intersection (just after entering City of Palos Verdes), turn left on La Rotonda Dr and drive .25 miles to parking lot. La Rotonda is a small street, with no light, but a left lane turn. If you drive to the main Ocean Trails entrance (evidenced by a big American Flag), you've gone a half mile too far.
