Bridge To Nowhere

http://www.sc2030.org/constructor.php?nav_element=19&url_EventId=2889

Beat the heat by spending a day on the East Fork of the San Gabriel River, with a 10 mile, 1,000 ft elevation gain hike to the famous Bridge to Nowhere.

Along the way, you may see a few people panning for gold in the stream, elusive Bighorn Sheep, and learn about the highway that washed away in a winter storm to leave a mysterious car Bridge smack in the middle of the wilderness.

Special note: You will get wet. There are numerous creek crossings, some possibly thigh high, which will require some careful walking. Of course, on a nice warm day, the water will feel very nice.

We’ll go past the bridge to some pools where we can relax in the warm June sun and enjoy our lunch.

What to bring: Sunscreen, hat, 3 liters of water, Lunch, waterproof bag for important items, and Shoes which are good for wading and getting fully immersed. If you park at the trailhead instead of the meeting point, an Adventure Pass is required for parking.

This event is co-hosted with the OC Sierra Club group. Because of the limited group size, a no-show policy is in effect. Failure to fulfill the RSVP without a legitimate excuse will restrict the individual's participation in future trips. No dogs on this hike.

Cancellation Policy: Extreme weather or fire cancels the hike.

It pains me to say I can't go. Sometime before the end of time, I will do this hike!

Does this mean an adventure pass is not needed tomorrow at the trailhead? http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/r5/passes-permits/recreation/?cid=stelprdb5291028&width=full

Looks like good and legitimate information. I don't have time to verify this so park at your own risk. Worst case scenario, you'd pay $5 for the day pass.

Hi everyone, I'm very excited about this hike. One question though. I usually bring my dog on this hike, and saw on the internet that dogs are permitted by the park service. He is extremely friendly and gets along with other dogs. Please let me know if I can bring him, even if he is not "officially" part of the Sierra Club group.
