Canon City, Westcliffe, Florence loop

Depending on where you live, you can select a starting point at several locations. This drive will begin at the Black Bear Coffee and Tea Lodge in Colorado Springs. Get there by 10:00am, we will leave there at 10:15a.
We'll head south on hway 115, then west on hway 50. The second stop will be at the Sonic in Canon City (1135 Royal Gorge Blvd). We'll get there at 11:00am, leave there at 11:15am. Then we drive Skyline drive and rejoin hway 50 to Texas Creek. We should by in Texas Creek around 12:00pm. Somewhere near the intersection of Hways 50 and 69 should be our meetup location. That will be another point for people to join up with this group. We will stop there, but not for long. In Texas Creek, we pick up hway 69 south into Westcliffe. We will proceed to the Custer County Courthouse in Westcliffe (205 S. 6th St.). We should get there at 12:45pm. We'll get lunch somewhere (suggestions are welcome). After we eat (around 2pm) we will drive East on Hway 96 to Wetmore, where we will pickup hway 67 toward Florence. After we arrive in Florence (at about 2:50pm), those who are headed to Colo. Springs can take 115 (45 min to return to starting point). Those from Pueblo can take 115 to 50 or 120 (~40min from Florence). Those headed to Canon City can take 67 to 50 (20 min from Florence).

5 miatas (and 7 people) started in Colorado Springs. Our meetup location was popular, as a Corvette club was also meeting at the same time, in the same parking lot. 2 Miatas (3 people) turned off before Canon city, by 2 more Miatas (3 people) joined us there. Skyline Drive in Canon City provided great sights for the group. We then went on a twisty and fun drive to Texas Creek and Westcliffe. After lunch, we had a great drive through canyons to Wetmore and Florence. Participants included John/Debbie and their NB, a fresh out of the hospital Stephen Dupont and his NC, Richard Puntar (NC), Leon/Martha (NB), new member Edwin Jonas Morrison (NB), potential members Danny/Joyce (NC), and Dan F (NA).
